Reviews

‘This book is a must! If anything would make you get on the walking shoes then this is it. But even discarding those shoes Paul has the ability to make you feel you are walking with him, seeing the things he sees that you would miss. Marvelling at what lies on our doorstep that we often don’t take time to see or appreciate, the sights, the flora, the fauna, the history and my goodness what history, even the Romans!!!.... and the Antonine Wall. But they never did conquer the Vale or Dumbarton! I just could not put it down and read it cover to cover..... I am now away to tick off another item on the bucket list.... A hike up to the Pappert Well. Thanks Paul.... your book is a joy.’ - Rev Ian Miller

‘Paul your book is brilliant! I love the combination of nature, history and local legend, makes you realise how much there is to discover right on your doorstep’ - The Clydesider Magazine

‘Four walks from which to choose. Well researched, beautifully illustrated, this book is an enjoyable and informative read. Even if you can’t/don’t  ‘do’ the walks the book’s easy style, with snippets of humour, is well worth a read.’ - Mary Irvine, Writer and Reviewer

I thought the book was great - it's got all the stuff I mean to Google when I get back to the house but forget! 'Covering the history, wildlife and plants you see on local walks, this guide really brings out the character of the place.' - Grant McGarry, local walker and climber.
